Madrid, September 8 2021. Thirteen startups have been selected to participate in the second edition of Scaleup Spain Network, an initiative of the Bankinter Innovation Foundation, Endeavor, and Wayra, Telefónica's open innovation hub, which emerged with the intention of supporting startups in their growth process. The success of the first edition has demonstrated that scaleups, larger and faster-growing companies within the startup ecosystem, have the capacity to transform a country's production model, highlighting the necessity of this qualitative leap in the sector. Thanks to the support of the Bankinter Innovation Foundation, Endeavor, and Wayra, three leading organizations committed to entrepreneurship and the development of a more mature scaleup ecosystem in Spain, Scaleup Spain Network seeks to accompany, mentor, and support Spanish startups so they can evolve successfully, becoming an engine that drives growth. The ecosystem offers practical and useful solutions. The program helps companies in their maturation and transformation process by anticipating the challenges they will encounter along the way. It also aims to enhance the development of both company founders and their management teams, and to create a collaborative network among them to establish connections, share experiences, and learn together. To achieve this, it uses a blended learning model that combines theory and key concepts with sessions that develop practical case studies led by the founders of some of the most successful scaleups in Spain, as well as national and international experts and investors. All of this at no cost to the selected companies.
Among the sessions planned for this second edition are one on Structure and Management, given by Miguel Arias (Kfund) and Jorge Poyatos (Seedtag), which will be followed by a session on Fundraising led by Sonia Fernández (Kibo Ventures) and Gonzalo Pastos (Smart Protection), and another on Corporate Culture led by Simone Veglia (Growara) and Ignacio Moreno (Capchase).
Together, the selected startups have a combined turnover of 35 million euros in 2020, employ 373 people, and have raised more than 40 million euros in investment.
