- Winning startups will have the opportunity to secure a contract of up to one million euros for the deployment of their project with Renfe.
- Renfe's accelerator, developed by Wayra, is looking for startups that address six new challenges: digitalization, accessibility, sustainability, customer experience, future railway maintenance, and operational safety.
- Following its three previous calls for applications, TrenLab already has 12 accelerated startups, which have secured €16.5 million in funding and created 121 jobs.
- The new call for applications will remain open until May 17.
In this new call for proposals, open until May 17, TrenLab proposes six new challenges that take into account factors such as the environmental crisis, the constant need for digitalization and adaptation of services, and the new needs of the customer, among others. Specifically, the challenges posed by the accelerator in this edition are the following:
- Digitalization of freight transport:aimed at transformative, innovative and technological solutions that support the digitalization of rail freight transport as a way to achieve operational excellence, improved profitability and increased competitiveness.
- Accessibility:The objective of this challenge is to improve the customer experience by facilitating accessible travel for all and promoting the development of the most revolutionary digital projects focused on improving universal accessibility in its three areas (physical, sensory or cognitive).
- Sustainability:Technological solutions are being sought to promote the strategic lines that Renfe is working on: energy management, energy efficiency, and decarbonization.
- Customer Experience:Aimed at technological solutions that facilitate the improvement of the customer experience and allow for personalization, improved communication, and/or a better understanding of travelers.
- Railway Maintenance of the Future:Innovative technological projects are sought in the field of railway manufacturing and maintenance, focused on digitalization and the incorporation of new Industry 4.0 technologies (IoT, Big Data, augmented reality, additive manufacturing, machine vision, etc.).
- Operational Safety:Designed for digitalization solutions in operational safety with the aim of providing Renfe with technological improvements and innovation in its systems through the strategy of implementing active and proactive safety in all its processes.
