Wayra invests in Gamium and reinforces Telefónica's commitment to the metaverse

Founded by a team of young entrepreneurs from Barcelona, ​​Gamium is a startup with solid experience in the Web 3 ecosystem that has managed to generate one million euros in revenue by selling land in its metaverse in just 10 days. Wayra, Telefónica's open innovation initiative, takes another step forward in Their commitment to the metaverse and Web 3 with the investment in Gamium, the technology startup developing the first decentralized social metaverse where digital identities are the protagonists.

In Gamium's metaverse, users will participate through an Avatar, which will represent their unique digital identity. This will not only be used to interact within Gamium but also in other metaverses and Web 2 and Web 3 applications. It is an innovative identity concept that allows users to own their data and exercise complete control over their privacy. “At Gamium, we believe the future lies in building platforms where the user is the central element, allowing them to control their data and privacy. That's why we developed our metaverse based on an identity that can be used in other applications and metaverses. Gamium seeks to foster a new way of socializing digitally, and to make this possible, its metaverse will be accessible in 3D and also through an app. The startup recently put a batch of 664 plots of land on sale in its virtual world. In less than 10 days he managed to sell more than one million euros in these virtual lands. With them, users or companies can create their own businesses or events through their Avatars, generating economic and recreational activity on the platform.

Image of the metaverse and the avatars developed by Gamium launched the pre-sale of its token in February, with participation from investors such as DAO Maker, Metrix Capital, Magnus Capital, and influencers like Mr Beast and Willyrex, among others. In March, they launched their $GMM token, which is listed on several exchanges, including KuCoin. Gamium currently has a community of over 100,000 people who can participate in the company's decisions through various DAOs.
