• Watch Together allows users of video platforms to share the experience of watching content with other people anywhere else and video chat simultaneously.
• Created in 2013, one of Sceenic's main objectives is to strengthen its presence in Spain and enter other markets in Europe and Latin America where Telefónica operates.
Wayra, Telefónica's open innovation hub, invests in Sceenic, creator of Watch Together, software that allows users of OTT platforms to share video content and video chat simultaneously with friends and family. With this investment, Sceenic seeks to strengthen its presence in markets where Telefónica operates in Europe and Latin America, as well as its internal growth and development of new technologies. Sceenic has been recognized as the top leader in the co-viewing industry by Sports Innovation Lab (US) thanks to its advanced technology and extensive list of renowned global clients, including BT Sport and ScreenHits TV (UK), PCCW (Hong Kong), NPO (Netherlands), Yes Network (US), T-Mobile, Eusovision Song Contest, and NDR (Germany), among others. Compatible with OTT technology, it allows for rapid implementation and offers a broad portfolio of SDKs for mobile, web, Smart TVs, tablets, and set-top boxes.

“The leisure sector has changed radically in recent years, even more so as a result of the pandemic, which makes Sceenic's proposal very attractive. Wayra's commitment to this project reflects Telefónica's interest in these “New forms of digital entertainment, so prevalent in the homes of millions of people today,” says Paloma Castellano, director of Wayra Madrid. Jonathan Williams, Head of Operations and Business at Sceenic, adds: “As a team, it has been enriching to welcome Wayra as part of our family, as it has reaffirmed the great potential they see in Sceenic as a company and our shared vision of bringing our offering closer to people. Telefónica’s extensive knowledge of our technology will allow us to evolve more quickly and potentially enter new industries.”
