Wayra invests in Shakers, the startup specializing in digital transformation through a collaborative system between teams

Wayra, Telefónica's flagship open innovation program, is investing in Shakers, the Madrid-based startup revolutionizing the business ecosystem through its platform designed to help companies overcome their technological challenges. Mobile app development, cloud migrations, the design of features based on generative AI, data analysis, and cybersecurity plans are just some of the projects companies publish on its platform. Through hybrid teams that combine in-house employees and freelancers in an agile way, Shakers has enabled companies to adopt the most cross-cutting technologies, anticipate technological challenges, and drive innovation and competitiveness. This operating system simplifies collaboration between large companies and teams of freelancers, allowing them to work together quickly and efficiently. Wayra has participated in a €6 million seed funding round, which also included Adevinta Ventures, Brighteye Ventures, and Athos Capital, as well as existing investors Clave Capital and CDTI, and business angels such as Hilario Albarracín (former president of KPMG). The goal of this capital injection is to help the tech startup increase its capacity to serve more companies, reduce its waiting list, and begin focusing on its international expansion. Therefore, Shakers invites companies wishing to accelerate their digital transformation to join the platform. Founded in 2021, Shakers has attracted 3,000 of the country's top digital experts and, after growing its community sevenfold in the last year, has supported more than 450 companies, including Inditex, Uber, and Telefónica. These clients are already driving strategic digital transformation projects. Spain has the opportunity to lead the transition to a new European production model, leveraging the transformative power of digitalization in society. Shakers, with the support of Wayra, is committed to moving in this direction and helping to consolidate Spain as the leading technology hub in Europe. "Shakers was born with the vision of reinventing work. We imagined a world where companies and digital workers can connect much more quickly and efficiently to develop high-impact projects. This funding round and the new partners bring us one step closer to that goal," said Héctor Mata, co-founder and CEO of Shakers. "Thanks to Shakers and its AI-based platform, all companies will be able to quickly and easily access the best national technology talent to technologically transform their businesses. We hope that, with our help, they will soon be able to expand beyond our borders. The digital age is here to stay, and we must secure the best technology talent to remain globally competitive," explained Paloma Castellano, director of Wayra Madrid.
