Imagine an immersive virtual experience, taking place in a real, shared space, where you don't need to use virtual reality glasses. That's the proposition of the startup Broomx Technologies, which has just closed a funding round of two million euros.

Wayra España, Telefónica's open innovation hub, has participated in the round together with BStartup from Banc Sabadell and Stornoway Investments, as well as a group of Business Angels from the UK and Luxembourg. Broomx has worked with the law firm RCD to close this funding round, which will help fuel the startup's expansion in both Europe and the US. The startup recently completed a six-month program at the music technology incubator Abbey Road Red. Broomx is the creator of the world's first virtual reality projector, called MK360, a technology already in use in 20 different countries. The device, an immersive projector, is placed in the center of a room and creates interactive and immersive experiences by covering walls and ceiling, and includes audio, internet connectivity, and home automation control. Broomx Technologies has been in development for four years and has a team of more than 15 people working on the project.

Among its clients are big names such as the hotel companies Catalonia Hotels and Marriott, corporations like Skoda, Asepeyo, and the Japanese company NTT Docomo, and universities like UCLA in the United States. In addition, the company is participating in a clinical study on the impact of immersive technologies in the treatment of patients with Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases, funded by the Canadian Ministry of Health. With its investment in Broomx, Wayra maintains its commitment to investing in mature technology startups that can do business with Telefónica and scale by contributing their solution to the group's network of more than 350 million customers worldwide. “We aim to bring disruptive technologies closer to Telefónica's customers by investing in and collaborating with companies like Broomx,” explains Andrés Saborido, director of Wayra Spain. “At this time of consolidation and internationalization of our technology, I can't think of a better partner than Wayra, given its extensive knowledge of the needs of startups like ours, and Telefónica, for its cross-cutting access to large markets and complete guarantees for our clients,” adds Diego Serrano, CEO and co-founder of Broomx. data-rt-max-height="33.723653395784545%" data-rt-dimensions="854:480" data-page-url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=HVbgJ25-4QI">
