Wayra, Telefónica's corporate venture capital arm, is investing in Ciudadela, the Spanish proptech company specializing in the management of homeowners' associations. Ciudadela's mission is to transform property administration through digitalization and the use of artificial intelligence. Wayra participated in this €2.7 million funding round, which Ciudadela closed, to accelerate its expansion with disruptive technology that will enable it to create innovative solutions and solidify its position as a leader in the sector. This investment will allow the platform to automate administrative processes and use real-time data, offering homeowners' associations greater transparency, efficiency, and significant savings. The funding round also included investors such as Athos Capital, Archipiélago Next, Big Sur Ventures, Finaves, and Invertidos, and featured angel investors like Juan Urdiales and Felipe Navío, founders of Job&Talent. “At Wayra, we are thrilled to announce our investment in Ciudadela, a team with a solid track record of scaling companies internationally. Their innovative platform digitizes the traditional property management sector, providing greater transparency and improving the customer experience. We aim to become a strategic partner to help scale their services marketplace, integrating solutions such as energy, alarm systems, IoT sensors, and connectivity services, thus offering a smarter and more efficient ecosystem for communities and homes,” says Marta Antúnez, Investment Director at Wayra Spain. “We are building the future of property management,” commented Jaime Llantada, CEO of Ciudadela. “With this new investment and the backing of some of the most influential investors in the sector, we are in an unbeatable position to lead a profound transformation in an industry that urgently requires modernization. We are not just looking to compete; we want to redefine the market using artificial intelligence and the most advanced technologies.” About Ciudadela: Ciudadela is a Property Services Marketplace that offers a digital approach to managing all aspects of buildings and homes.
